Wishing everyone a great Easter break choc full of fun! The Easter bunny delivered yesterday so we had one happy bunny and a houseful of chocolate to last the whole year!
On a work related note I recently found a new stockist for my prints, the fab FortyFour shop in Lincoln, a sweet little shop choc full of illustrated goodies and definitely worth a visit...

Sculpture Weekend

I have neglected my blog for so long, mainly as blogger doesn't work anymore on my browser! I thought I'd try a post from my phone instead! We recently went for a long weekend break in Yorkshire, we really wanted to go back to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park www.ysp.co.uk which we first visited in 2010 before we had our son. It really is an amazing place! So much to see and beautiful countryside.  Some fabulous Henry Moore's and Barbara Hepworth's whose work I particularly love.
We also went to Hepworth Wakefield for more of the same...
 http://www.hepworthwakefield.org/
This opened in 2011 so it was our first visit and we all loved it, although Jimmy wanted to touch everything which is not allowed inside the galleries!  There was one Caro sculpture that he could climb in so that was a definite hit! And we all loved this quirky junk sculpture hanging from a crane just outside the walkway to the gallery. It was fun to spot all the different items that he was made from! I like the broom head eyebrows! I think we might try and make our own mini version over the holidays as I have lots of little bits and bobs left over from my 3d illustration days..Summer holidays are here! Going to try and make the most of them before Jimmy starts reception in September..

Ahoy There Shipmates!

Say hello to the Jumble Sailor! I'm excited to have finally launched my new vintage shop on etsy. Please come on board here.

I have enjoyed collecting these treasures over many years but it's now time for me to send them to new destinations so I can make my cabin a bit more ship shape!  I have so many items to list in the upcoming weeks so please stay tuned...

My inspiration for the name came from the song 'Jumble Sailing' by Clearlake which has always struck a chord with me. See them performing it here.

My super patient husband has designed the Jumble Sailor logo and header for me, he looks like a happy chap doesn't he! I think my husband will be happy to see some of my treasures go to new homes!!

Free as a butterfly

This is my contribution to the annual Christmas coaster promotion run by my US agent.
This year's theme is 'Art Speaks Louder Than Words' and is in support of gay rights in Russia.

"There is a lot of controversy regarding the next Olympic Winter Games, due to take place in Sochi, Russia, especially with Russian laws regarding homosexuality.
At Anna Goodson Illustration Agency, we believe that Art Speaks Louder Than Words and we wanted to make a statement and show the world that our agency and illustrators don’t support discrimination or violence of any kind, regardless of religion, race or sexual orientation."

All the artists were asked to create an image as a protest against this discrimination and I chose to illustrate a butterfly as a symbol to show that in love, everyone is equal.
You can see the rest of the artists images here

Beware of the green-eyed monster!

This illustration has just been published in US Magazine Thriving Family.  The article dealt with jealousy between stepparents and children and I wanted to show the woman's speech bubble as a green-eyed monster as she jealously looks at her partner and his daughter who is the 'apple of his eye'.

Illustration Friday - Travel

This is a recent illustration just out in the latest Woman & Home which I thought was a good fit for this week's IF topic.  A few tips on packing for your holidays; using straws to keep jewellery safe and packing baby powder as a sand remover...I'm not jetting off anywhere exotic, with this lovely weather we are having in the U.K why go anywhere else!! Today
( my birthday) has been a scorcher so we enjoyed a relaxing picnic in the sun with friends, playing frisbee and chasing after Jimmy, great fun!
